Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

CapPro ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by Olive Works LLC, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information CapPro collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

By using CapPro you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

2. Information We Collect

CapPro does not require you to create an account or sign in. It keeps two distinct kinds of information in two distinct places.

Anonymous account information: created automatically so the app can function, stored by our backend provider Supabase Inc.:

• Anonymous account identifier: the first time you use a captioning or translation feature, the app creates an anonymous account for you. There is no sign-up: we do not ask for, or collect, your name, email address, or a password. This identifier is stored in the iOS Keychain, so it can survive deleting and reinstalling the app, which is what lets your subscription and usage allowance be recognised again afterwards. It is also passed to Apple with any purchase, so Apple's subscription notifications can be matched back to the right anonymous account. We do not use the device's advertising identifier and we do not collect a device ID.
• Transcription & translation job records: status and timing information for each captioning or translation job (e.g., submitted, processing, complete), linked only to your anonymous account identifier, used so the app can resume a job if it's interrupted and so we can monitor usage for abuse prevention.
• Authentication tokens: short-lived tokens that keep your anonymous session active.
• Translated caption text: when you translate captions, the translated text is stored with the job on our backend so the translation can finish even if you close the app. It is linked only to your anonymous account identifier.
• Product analytics events: a small set of first-party events recording how the app is used: app opens, views of the subscription screen, subscription and restore attempts and their outcomes, captioning and translation starts and completions, and export completions. Each event carries the event name, the app version, the platform, your anonymous account identifier, and a small amount of non-personal detail about the action itself, such as which plan was selected or the resolution an export was rendered at. Events never contain your captions, your video, or anything you typed. We use these to understand where the app is confusing or failing, and how many people subscribe.
• Subscription status: if you subscribe, Apple notifies our server about events on your subscription, and we record whether it is active, whether it is in the free-trial period, which plan it is, when the current period ends, the identifier Apple assigns to the subscription, and whether it came from Apple's test or production environment, all linked to your anonymous account identifier. We use this to unlock the features you paid for and to apply the correct usage allowance. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or payment details.

For security and abuse prevention, request metadata (IP address, timestamp) may be retained for up to 90 days, then permanently deleted.

Audio you submit for captioning. When you use CapPro's caption generation feature, the app extracts the audio track from your video and uploads that audio to our own storage on Supabase. Our transcription provider, AssemblyAI, then fetches it from a private link that expires after fifteen minutes, and returns a text transcript and, if you request it, a translation. Your video itself never leaves your device: only the extracted audio is uploaded, and only when you ask for captions. This audio is deleted from our storage once your job completes. It is never used to train AI models, sold, or shared with advertisers.

Video, project & media data: stored only on your device, never uploaded to our servers except for the audio-transcription flow described above:

• Your videos, images, and logos: imported, recorded, or generated inside the app.
• Your projects: captions, edits, styles, timelines, and other project data.
• App settings: your preferences such as theme, haptics, and advanced captioning options.

We do not collect crash reports, and we never access the contents of your videos, projects, or media beyond the audio sent for transcription described above.

3. How We Use Your Information

All information described in section 2 is used exclusively to:

• Generate captions and translations from your video's audio.
• Resume an interrupted captioning or translation job so you don't lose progress or pay twice for the same job.
• Prevent abuse of our transcription and translation services (e.g., unusually high volume from a single device).
• Display, edit, and export your captioned videos inside the app.
• Unlock the features included in your subscription, and apply the usage allowance for your plan.
• Understand, in aggregate, how the app is used and where it fails, so we can improve it.

We never use the contents of your videos, projects, or media for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent your data.

4. Data Storage & Security

CapPro uses a hybrid storage model:

• Anonymous account information (the items in section 2) is stored by Supabase Inc., encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
• Videos, projects, and media are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. They are never transmitted to our servers, except for the audio portion of a video you submit for captioning, which is uploaded to our storage, fetched from there by AssemblyAI, and deleted once your job completes.

5. Third-Party Services

CapPro integrates with the following third-party services:

• Supabase Inc. (anonymous accounts and job status): supabase.com/privacy

• Apple (subscription payments; Apple notifies our server when a subscription starts, renews, lapses, or is refunded): apple.com/legal/privacy

We use no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or cross-app tracking technologies, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The product analytics described in section 2 are first-party only: they are recorded by our own backend, tied to an anonymous identifier rather than to your identity, and are never sold or shared for advertising. The contents of your videos, projects, and media are never shared with any third party beyond the audio-transcription flow described above.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your videos, projects, and media remain on your device for as long as you use the app, and are removed if you delete a project or uninstall the app. Uploaded audio is deleted from our storage as soon as your transcription finishes, fails, or is cancelled. If a job is abandoned partway through, any leftover file is removed the next time that same anonymous account starts a new transcription. The transcript itself is held by AssemblyAI under their own retention terms, so a translation can be produced from it without uploading your audio again. Job status records tied to your anonymous account identifier are retained to support the app's resume feature and abuse prevention. Product analytics events and subscription status records are likewise tied only to that anonymous identifier and are retained while the app remains in use, so we can measure trends over time.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA) to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. Because your videos and projects are stored locally on your device, you have full control over them at all times: simply delete a project, or uninstall the app, to remove that data. 8. Children's Privacy

CapPro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at info@barood.cc and we will take appropriate steps to address the situation.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Effective Date" at the top of this page will be updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of CapPro after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
